The Supportive Housing Provider Association (SHPA) is a trade association made up of developers, providers and residents of permanent supportive housing, the key to ending homelessness and institutionalization of people with disabilities. We work together to advance evidenced-based practices, educate the general public and elected officials, and increase supportive housing development and maintain current supportive housing projects. We are the only trade association in Illinois that embraces the residents of supportive housing in the leadership of the organization.
The Supportive Housing Providers Association (SHPA) celebrated its 25th anniversary on
November 4th & 5th, 2025, at the Annual Supportive Housing Summit in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. Founded in 1995, the organization marked a quarter-century of advocacy at this 2025 event.
