SS LADYBUG

The SSL Ladybug is a short puppet play about a family adventure to find a mermaid. Tot, the child, convinces her parents to search for the mermaid Tot’s mother writes about in her children’s books. Tot’s parents, not wanting to discourage Tot’s wonderful imagination and zest for life, agree, and they all board the SS Ladybug and begin their quest. Tot and her family discover may wonders. The find a family of turtles. They marvel over exotic plants. The experience the wonders of vast waterways. They interact with a friendly flying insect. They do not find a mermaid. However, when they come ashore once more, Tot is so involved in writing her own account of their adventures that the mermaid they didn’t see doesn’t matter anymore.
