Residency

Recently applied for a 3-month residency. I have finally been been able to reorganized my life to accommodate a much more intense focus on my puppetry, specifically honing my technical expertise. I want to expand SRO (renamed BOXING) to an 18-20 minutes play. SRO is about a woman who has been relocated to an even more cramped and dilapidated youth hostile until her affordable housing SRO building is renovated. The play explores the dehumanizing conditions experienced by women in this compressed, powder-keg environment. BOXING will expand upon these characterizations with additional backstory, puppet action, and effects. The systemic failure to consider the needs of troubled housing and food insecure individuals being further traumatized by poorly-executed relocation practices to unwelcoming environments is a story that need much more exposure.
