Today, a friend of mine passed away. I am too stunned to be sad right now. She had a heart as soft as marshmallow fluff and a core of strength and determination. She was a poet of extraordinary vision and clarity. She was the soul of generosity. She was a trickster: contradictory and clever. She was a person who celebrated the successes of others. She was a person of great understanding and personal dignity. She was quietly courageous. She was survivor. She was a person who feared the seen and the unseen and also fierce in defense of her friends. She was a person with physical challenges. She was a person who did not complain. She was a person in pain. She was chaotic, a handful, a chameleon. She was a person who shared her light and warmth unstintingly. She is a person gone too soon.

As I thought about my friend, I made Allua to keep with me, although my memories of my friend are so vibrant and so numerous I doubt they will ever fade.
