Trying my hand at a Disco Duck figure for BOXING. She is an aging ballerina plagued by depression and regret. She is also a voice hearer. Later, she will feature in her own play, To Hear What Others Cannot (or To Hear More). Watching and listening to the experiences of voice hearers, primarily in de-escalation seminars, was eye-opening. I have read texts on the subject, but hearing voice-hearers telling their own stories and having the opportunity to listen to the audio representations they shared breathed life into those words on the page. Hearing voices that are indistinguishable from those of actual people. Relying upon the reations of others to determine if what one is hearing is real. These educational sessions gave me a richer understanding of the behavior of others.
