Culture Break: El Ultimo Sueno de Frida y Diego

I went to a marvelous opera yesterday. Frida returns from the dead and spends time with her husband Diego. Greta Garbo also appears! From cobalt, to ochre, to crimson, the sets and singers were drenched in color! And each tableau was beautifully composed. The music was resonant, intricate and sometimes quirky. I found the singing lovely, but not fully projected, which was odd because the acoustics at Lyric Opera are A+.

This photo does not do Frida y Diego justice, but I included it as another momento of this beautiful production. Not only did I enjoy the opera, I found tons of inspiration for future fiber projects. A quilt, I think! Thank you CHI for the invitation to another fantastic event.
